The Jacksonville Jewish Federation kicked off the annual fundraising campaign at Etz Chaim Synagogue. The event was generously sponsored by Gray-Robinson. The evening featured refreshments and dessert; an inspirational video highlighting the Federation’s accomplishments at home and abroad. Community leaders Haley Trager and Hal Resnick (of blessed memory) were honored for their dedicated service to the community.
Alon Ben Gurion, grandson of Israel’s first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion, led a lively discussion, recalling the early days of Israel’s birth, recalling the challenges, bravery and visionary leadership that created the modern state of Israel. He shared his fond memories of his grandfather, both as an incredible leader of the Israelis and as a dedicated family man.
